After 119 years since the Meiji era, this spring, Matsueikan will be revived as a limited stay inn, welcoming only one group per day.

In 2024, after more than 120 years, this historically rich place, preserving the essence of the past, will be revived as a limited stay inn, welcoming only one group per day. SHOUEIKAN, a charming establishment with a history dating back to the Meiji era, situated in the historic location of Maizuru, invites you to experience it with all your senses. We aim to make your stay at SHOUEIKAN truly special, offering a heartfelt welcome unique to our one-group-per-day setting. The approximately 500-square-meter, two-story wooden building, blending Japanese and Western styles, is not only a testament to the charm of the Meiji era but also collaborates with Maizuru Film Commission, serving as a location for movies such as ‘The Man Called Pirate’ and ‘Japan’s Longest Day.’ Please come and immerse yourself in the romantic atmosphere of the Meiji period.
